Bible Verses About The Atonement

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread,

And giving thanks, broke and said: Take ye and eat: This is my body, which shall be delivered for you. This do for the commemoration of me.

In like manner also the chalice, after he had supped, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood. This do ye, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me.

For as often as you shall eat this bread and drink the chalice, you shall shew the death of the Lord, until he come.

But all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Christ and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.

For God indeed was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing to them their sins. And he hath placed in us the word of reconciliation.

For Christ therefore we are ambassadors, God as it were exhorting by us, for Christ, we beseech you, be reconciled to God.

Him, who knew no sin, he hath made sin for us: that we might be made the justice of God in him.

But now in Christ Jesus, you, who some time were afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and breaking down the middle wall of partition, the enmities in his flesh:

Making void the law of commandments contained in decrees: that he might make the two in himself into one new man, making peace

And might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, killing the enmities in himself.

And through him to reconcile all things unto himself, making peace through the blood of his cross, both as to the things that are on earth and the things that are in heaven.

And you, whereas you were some time alienated and enemies in mind in evil works:

Yet now he hath reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unspotted and blameless before him:

For Jesus is not entered into the Holies made with hands, the patterns of the true: but into Heaven itself, that he may appear now in the presence of God for us.

Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the Holies every year with the blood of others:

For then he ought to have suffered often from the beginning of the world. But now once, at the end of ages, he hath appeared for the destruction of sin by the sacrifice of himself.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment:

So also Christ was offered once to exhaust the sins of many. The second time he shall appear without sin to them that expect him unto salvation.

Wherefore, when he cometh into the world he saith: Sacrifice and oblation thou wouldest not: but a body thou hast fitted to me.

Holocausts for sin did not please thee.

Then said I: Behold I come: in the head of the book it is written of me: that I should do thy will, O God.

In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law.

Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: He taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.
