  12. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "jump! For the Tanakh says, `He will order his angels to be responsible for you. . . . They will support you with their hands, so that you will not hurt your feet on the stones.'"

  13. Yeshua replied to him, "But it also says, `Do not put ADONAI your God to the test.'"h

  14. Once more, the Adversary took him up to the summit of a very high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their glory,

  15. and said to him, "All this I will give you if you will bow down and worship me."

  16. "Away with you, Satan!" Yeshua told him, "For the Tanakh says, `Worship ADONAI your God, and serve only him.'"

  17. Then the Adversary let him alone, and angels came and took care of him.

  18. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a stupid man who built his house on sand.

  19. The rain fell, the rivers flooded, the wind blew and beat against that house, and it collapsed -- and its collapse was horrendous!"

  20. But if the people of a house or town will not welcome you or listen to you, leave it and shake its dust from your feet!

  22. Be on guard, for there will be people who will hand you over to the local Sanhedrins and flog you in their synagogues.

  23. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as a testimony to them and to the Goyim.

  24. But when they bring you to trial, do not worry about what to say or how to say it; when the time comes, you will be given what you should say.

  25. For it will not be just you speaking, but the Spirit of your heavenly Father speaking through you.
