For the Tanakh says, `He will order his angels to be responsible for you and to protect you.
They will support you with their hands, so that you will not hurt your feet on the stones.'"
Yeshua answered him, "It also says, `Do not put ADONAI your God to the test.'"
"The Spirit of ADONAI is upon me; therefore he has anointed me to announce Good News to the poor; he has sent me to proclaim freedom for the imprisoned and renewed sight for the blind, to release those who have been crushed,
to proclaim a year of the favor of ADONAI."
This is the one about whom the Tanakh says, `See, I am sending out my messenger ahead of you; he will prepare your way before you.'
and he said, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the Kingdom of God; but the rest are taught in parables, so that they may look but not see, and listen but not understand.
He answered, “You are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your understanding; and your neighbor as yourself.”
Look! God is abandoning your house to you! I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of Adonai!’”
You know the mitzvot — ‘Don’t commit adultery, don’t murder, don’t steal, don’t give false testimony, honor your father and mother, . . .’”
saying to them, “The Tanakh says, ‘My House is to be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it into a den of robbers!”
But Yeshua looked searchingly at them and said, “Then what is this which is written in the Tanakh, ‘The very rock which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’?
“But even Moshe showed that the dead are raised; for in the passage about the bush, he calls Adonai ‘the God of Avraham, the God of Yitz’chak and the God of Ya‘akov.’
For David himself says in the book of Psalms,
‘Adonai said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.” ’
For I tell you this: the passage from the Tanakh that says, ‘He was counted with transgressors,’ has to be fulfilled in me; since what is happening to me has a purpose.”
Then They will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’
Crying out with a loud voice, Yeshua said, “Father! Into your hands I commit my spirit.” With these words he gave up his spirit.
He answered in the words of Yesha‘yahu the prophet, “I am The voice of someone crying out: ‘In the desert make the way of Adonai straight!’”
