Isaiah
Also known as: Esaias
Verses Mentioning Isaiah
Then Yesha'yahu the son of Amotz sent this message to Hizkiyahu: "ADONAI the God of Isra'el says: 'You prayed to me against Sancheriv king of Ashur.'
Around this time Hizkiyahu became ill to the point of death. Yesha'yahu the prophet, the son of Amotz, came and said to him, "Here is what ADONAI says: 'Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not live.'"
Then the word of ADONAI came to Yesha'yahu:
Then Yesha'yahu said, "Have them take a fig-plaster and apply it to the inflammation, and he will recover."
Then Yesha'yahu the prophet came to King Hizkiyahu and asked him, "What did these men say? Where did they come from?" Hizkiyahu answered, "They came to me from a distant country, Bavel."
Yesha'yahu said to Hizkiyahu, "Hear what ADONAI-Tzva'ot says:
Hizkiyahu said to Yesha'yahu, "The word of ADONAI which you have just told me is good"; because he thought, "At least peace and truth will continue during my lifetime."
This is the man Yesha`yahu was talking about when he said, "The voice of someone crying out: `In the desert prepare the way of ADONAI! Make straight paths for him!'"
This happened in order to fulfill what Yesha`yahu the prophet had said,
This was done to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Yesha`yahu, "He himself took our weaknesses and bore our diseases"
This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Yesha`yahu the prophet,
That is, in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Yesha`yahu which says, `You will keep on hearing but never understand, and keep on seeing but never perceive,
You hypocrites! Yesha`yahu was right when he prophesied about you,
Yeshua answered them, "Yesha`yahu was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites -- as it is written, `These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far away from me.
It was just as had been written in the book of the sayings of the prophet Yesha`yahu, "The voice of someone crying out: `In the desert prepare the way for ADONAI! Make straight paths for him!
and he was given the scroll of the prophet Yesha`yahu. Unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written,
He answered in the words of Yesha‘yahu the prophet, “I am The voice of someone crying out: ‘In the desert make the way of Adonai straight!’”
in order that what Yesha‘yahu the prophet had said might be fulfilled, “Adonai, who has believed our report? To whom has the arm of Adonai been revealed?”
The reason they could not believe was — as Yesha‘yahu said elsewhere —
(Yesha‘yahu said these things because he saw the Sh’khinah of Yeshua and spoke about him.)
and now, as he was returning home, he was sitting in his chariot, reading the prophet Yesha‘yahu.
As Philip ran up, he heard the Ethiopian reading from Yesha‘yahu the prophet. “Do you understand what you’re reading?” he asked.
while others refused to believe. So they left, disagreeing among themselves, after Sha’ul had made one final statement: “The Ruach HaKodesh spoke well in saying to your fathers through Yesha‘yahu the prophet,
But Yesha‘yahu, referring to Isra’el, cries out, “Even if the number of people in Isra’el is as large as the number of grains of sand by the sea, only a remnant will be saved.
Also, as Yesha‘yahu said earlier, “If Adonai-Tzva’ot had not left us a seed, we would have become like S’dom, we would have resembled ‘Amora.”
