  1. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, hath promised unto thee, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

  8. One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of Jehovah, And to inquire in his temple.

  9. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, So panteth my soul after thee, O God.

  10. For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me.

  13. My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; My heart and my flesh cry out unto the living God.

  16. They soon forgat his works; They waited not for his counsel,

  17. With my whole heart have I sought thee: Oh let me not wander from thy commandments.

  18. My soul breaketh for the longing That it hath unto thine ordinances at all times.

  19. Oh how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day.

  20. How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

  21. My zeal hath consumed me, Because mine adversaries have forgotten thy words.

  22. My soul hath observed thy testimonies; And I love them exceedingly.

  23. Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and declare unto my people their transgression, and to the house of Jacob their sins.

  24. Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near unto God.

  25. And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.
