  15. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; Nor for princes to say, Where is strong drink?

  16. Lest they drink, and forget the law, And pervert the justice due to any that is afflicted.

  17. Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, And wine unto the bitter in soul:

  18. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more.

  19. Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!

  20. And the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.

  21. Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are overcome with wine!

  22. Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one; as a tempest of hail, a destroying storm, as a tempest of mighty waters overflowing, will he cast down to the earth with the hand.

  23. The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under foot:

  24. And even these reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink; the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they stagger with strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

  25. For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
