  1. `And Thou drawest over them many years, and testifiest against them by Thy Spirit, by the hand of Thy prophets, and they have not given ear, and Thou dost give them into the hand of peoples of the lands,

  2. and the Holy Spirit came down in a bodily appearance, as if a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, saying, `Thou art My Son--the Beloved, in thee I did delight.'

  3. And John testified, saying--`I have seen the Spirit coming down, as a dove, out of heaven, and it remained on him;

  4. and I did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water, He said to me, On whomsoever thou mayest see the Spirit coming down, and remaining on him, this is he who is baptizing with the Holy Spirit;

  5. `And when the Comforter may come, whom I will send to you from the Father--the Spirit of truth, who from the Father doth come forth, he will testify of me;

  6. this one God, a Prince and a Saviour, hath exalted with His right hand, to give reformation to Israel, and forgiveness of sins;

  7. and we are His witnesses of these sayings, and the Holy Spirit also, whom God gave to those obeying him.'

  8. long time, indeed, therefore, did they abide speaking boldly in the Lord, who is testifying to the word of His grace, and granting signs and wonders to come to pass through their hands.

  9. and the heart-knowing God did bare them testimony, having given to them the Holy Spirit, even as also to us,

  10. And not being agreed with one another, they were going away, Paul having spoken one word--`Well did the Holy Spirit speak through Isaiah the prophet unto our fathers,

  11. saying, Go on unto this people and say, With hearing ye shall hear, and ye shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see, and ye shall not perceive,

  12. for made gross was the heart of this people, and with the ears they heard heavily, and their eyes they did close, lest they may see with the eyes, and with the heart may understand, and be turned back, and I may heal them.

  13. The Spirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God;

  14. and my word and my preaching was not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power--

  15. because our good news did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, even as ye have known of what sort we became among you because of you,

  16. God also bearing joint-witness both with signs and wonders, and manifold powers, and distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to His will.

  17. for by one offering he hath perfected to the end those sanctified;

  18. and testify to us also doth the Holy Spirit, for after that He hath said before,

  19. and he who is keeping His commands, in Him he doth remain, and He in him; and in this we know that He doth remain in us, from the Spirit that He gave us.

  20. in this we know that in Him we do remain, and He in us, because of His Spirit He hath given us.

  21. This one is he who did come through water and blood--Jesus the Christ, not in the water only, but in the water and the blood; and the Spirit it is that is testifying, because the Spirit is the truth,

  22. because three are who are testifying in the heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these--the three--are one;

  23. and three are who are testifying in the earth , the Spirit, and the water, and the blood, and the three are into the one.

  24. If the testimony of men we receive, the testimony of God is greater, because this is the testimony of God that He hath testified concerning His Son.

  25. He who is believing in the Son of God, hath the testimony in himself; he who is not believing God, a liar hath made Him, because he hath not believed in the testimony that God hath testified concerning His Son;
