  1. Then did he release to them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, he delivered him up that he may be crucified;

  2. then the soldiers of the governor having taken Jesus to the Praetorium, did gather to him all the band;

  3. and having unclothed him, they put around him a crimson cloak,

  11. and lo, the vail of the sanctuary was rent in two from top unto bottom, and the earth did quake, and the rocks were rent,

  12. and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who have fallen asleep, arose,

  13. and having come forth out of the tombs after his rising, they went into the holy city, and appeared to many.

  14. are ye ignorant that we, as many as were baptized to Christ Jesus, to his death were baptized?

  15. we were buried together, then, with him through the baptism to the death, that even as Christ was raised up out of the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we in newness of life might walk.

  16. For, if we have become planted together to the likeness of his death, so also we shall be of the rising again;

  17. this knowing, that our old man was crucified with him , that the body of the sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving the sin;

  18. for he who hath died hath been set free from the sin.

  19. And if we died with Christ, we believe that we also shall live with him,

  20. for as often as ye may eat this bread, and this cup may drink, the death of the Lord ye do shew forth--till he may come;

  21. so that whoever may eat this bread or may drink the cup of the Lord unworthily, guilty he shall be of the body and blood of the Lord:

  22. and let a man be proving himself, and so of the bread let him eat, and of the cup let him drink;

  23. for he who is eating and drinking unworthily, judgment to himself he doth eat and drink--not discerning the body of the Lord.
