  1. `The things hidden are to Jehovah our God, and the things revealed are to us and to our sons--to the age, to do all the words of this law.

  2. Of the secret counsel of God dost thou hear? And withdrawest thou unto thee wisdom?

  3. The secret of Jehovah is for those fearing Him, And His covenant--to cause them to know.

  4. For an abomination to Jehovah is the perverted, And with the upright is His secret counsel.

  8. that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the prophet, saying, `I will open in similes my mouth, I will utter things having been hidden from the foundation of the world.'

  9. and he said to them, `To you it hath been given to know the secret of the reign of God, but to those who are without, in similes are all the things done;

  10. And he said, `To you it hath been given to know the secrets of the reign of God, and to the rest in similes; that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

  11. the Spirit where he willeth doth blow, and his voice thou dost hear, but thou hast not known whence he cometh, and whither he goeth; thus is every one who hath been born of the Spirit.'

  12. Nicodemus answered and said to him, `How are these things able to happen?'

  13. Jesus answered and said to him, `Thou art the teacher of Israel--and these things thou dost not know!

  14. `Verily, verily, I say to thee--What we have known we speak, and what we have seen we testify, and our testimony ye do not receive;

  15. if the earthly things I said to you, and ye do not believe, how, if I shall say to you the heavenly things, will ye believe?

  16. And to Him who is able to establish you, according to my good news, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the secret, in the times of the ages having been kept silent,

  17. and now having been made manifest, also, through prophetic writings, according to a command of the age-during God, having been made known to all the nations for obedience of faith--

  18. but we speak the hidden wisdom of God in a secret, that God foreordained before the ages to our glory,

  19. which no one of the rulers of this age did know, for if they had known, the Lord of the glory they would not have crucified;

  20. but, according as it hath been written, `What eye did not see, and ear did not hear, and upon the heart of man came not up, what God did prepare for those loving Him--'

  21. but to us did God reveal them through His Spirit, for the Spirit all things doth search, even the depths of God,

  22. Having, then, such hope, we use much freedom of speech,

  23. and are not as Moses, who was putting a vail upon his own face, for the sons of Israel not stedfastly to look to the end of that which is being made useless,

  24. but their minds were hardened, for unto this day the same vail at the reading of the Old Covenant doth remain unwithdrawn--which in Christ is being made useless--

  25. but till to-day, when Moses is read, a vail upon their heart doth lie,
