  1. For all these things has my hand made, and so all these things came to be,” says the LORD: “but to this man will I look, even to him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.

  2. The wise men are disappointed. They are dismayed and trapped. Behold, they have rejected the LORD’s word. What kind of wisdom is in them?

  7. I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring on them, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they didn’t listen.

  8. But I will tell you that which is inscribed in the writing of truth: and there is no one who holds with me against these, but Michael your prince.”

  9. But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”

  10. Yeshua said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’”

  11. Then Yeshua said to him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”

  12. “Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.

  13. But Yeshua answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

  14. He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

  15. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’

  16. But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban, that is to say, given to God”;’

  17. then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,

  18. making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”

  19. Haven’t you even read this Scripture: ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the head of the corner.

  20. But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God, and do it.”

  21. But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”

  22. “But Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets. Let them listen to them.’

  23. “He said to him, ‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.’”

  24. Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

  25. Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
