  1. and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come,

  2. and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and put him to open shame.

  3. For the land which has drunk the rain that comes often on it, and produces a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receives blessing from God;

  4. but if it bears thorns and thistles, it is rejected and near being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

  5. For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,

  6. but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.

  7. A man who disregards the Torah of Moses dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

  8. How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

  9. But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”

  10. But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.

  11. For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.

  12. If indeed they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had enough time to return.

  13. For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Yeshua the Messiah, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

  14. For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.

  15. But I have this against you, that you left your first love.

  16. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lamp stand out of its place, unless you repent.

  17. I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.

  18. Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great oppression, unless they repent of her works.

  19. I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.

  20. Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God.

  21. Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you.
