  1. And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

  2. Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:

  3. And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

  4. And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.

  7. And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

  8. And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.

  9. And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.

  10. And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.

  11. And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

  12. And the old man said, Peace be with thee; howsoever let all thy wants lie upon me; only lodge not in the street.

  13. So he brought him into his house, and gave provender unto the asses: and they washed their feet, and did eat and drink.

  14. The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doors to the traveller.

  15. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
