  1. For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

  2. That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

  8. And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

  9. And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

  10. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

  11. The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

  12. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

  13. And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

  14. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

  15. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

  16. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

  17. And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

  18. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

  19. And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

  20. But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

  21. ¶ And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

  22. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.

  23. For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

  24. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

  25. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
