  1. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

  2. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

  13. And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

  14. And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,

  15. Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

  16. And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

  17. And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

  18. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

  19. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

  20. Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.

  21. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

  22. That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

  23. And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,

  24. Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.

  25. And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
