  1. ¶ And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

  2. And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

  8. And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

  9. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

  10. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

  11. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

  12. For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

  13. But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

  14. But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

  15. And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

  16. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

  17. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

  18. And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

  19. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

  20. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

  21. So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

  22. And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

  23. There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

  24. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

  25. And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
