  1. Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

  16. ¶ Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

  17. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

  18. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

  19. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

  20. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

  21. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

  22. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

  23. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

  24. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

  25. ¶ Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
