  1. ¶ With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

  2. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

  3. Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

  13. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

  14. ¶ But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

  15. That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

  16. Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

  17. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

  18. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

  19. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

  20. ¶ Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

  21. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

  22. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

  23. ¶ Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

  24. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

  25. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
