  1. And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.

  2. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

  3. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

  4. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

  5. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

  7. My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

  9. When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

  10. Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

  11. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

  12. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

  13. ¶ If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

  14. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

  15. Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

  16. Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

  17. How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

  18. As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

  19. ¶ Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

  20. So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

  21. And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

  22. ¶ I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

  23. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

  24. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

  25. ¶ Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
