  1. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

  2. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

  3. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

  4. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

  9. Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

  10. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

  11. ¶ Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

  12. For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

  13. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

  14. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

  15. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

  16. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

  17. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

  18. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

  19. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

  20. Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

  21. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

  22. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

  23. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

  24. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

  25. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
