  1. I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:

  2. Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:

  3. Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:

  4. To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.

  5. He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.

  6. He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

  7. They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

  8. But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.

  11. For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

  12. He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

  13. In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.

  14. I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?

  15. If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.

  16. He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

  17. Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.

  18. Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

  19. Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

  20. Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

  21. Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

  22. Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

  23. Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

  24. Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?

  25. If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
