¶ Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
Then called he them in, and lodged [them]. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
¶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
¶ And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
¶ Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by [your] good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook [his] raiment, and said unto them, Your blood [be] upon your own heads; I [am] clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
I have written to him the great things of my law, [but] they were counted as a strange thing.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
¶ The hoary head [is] a crown of glory, [if] it be found in the way of righteousness.

And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.
And now send men to Joppa, and call for [one] Simon, whose surname is Peter:
Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
¶ And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
