  1. Therefore the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising earely and sending: for he had compassion on his people, and on his habitation.

  2. But they mocked the messengers of God and despised his wordes, and misused his Prophets, vntill the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, and till there was no remedie.

  3. Harden not your heart, as in Meribah, and as in the day of Massah in the wildernesse.

  11. Then shall they call vpon me, but I will not answere: they shall seeke me early, but they shall not finde me,

  12. Because they hated knowledge, and did not chuse the feare of the Lord.

  13. They would none of my counsell, but despised all my correction.

  14. Therefore shall they eate of ye fruite of their owne way, and be filled with their owne deuises.

  15. A man that hardeneth his necke when he is rebuked, shall suddenly be destroyed and can not be cured.

  16. Harden not your hearts, as in the prouocation, according to the day of the tentation in the wildernes,

  17. So long as it is sayd, To day if ye heare his voyce, harden not your hearts, as in the prouocation.

  18. Againe he appointed in Dauid a certaine day, by To day, after so long a time, saying, as it is sayd, This day, if ye heare his voyce, harden not your hearts.

  19. And the remnant of the men which were not killed by these plagues, repented not of the works of their handes that they should not worship deuils, and idoles of golde and of siluer, and of brasse, and of stone, and of wood, which neither can see, neither heare nor goe.

  20. Also they repented not of their murder, and of their sorcerie, neither of their fornication, nor of their theft.
