  1. In those dayes also I saw Iewes that married wiues of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab.

  2. And their children spake halfe in ye speach of Ashdod, and could not speake in the Iewes language, and according to the language of the one people, and of the other people.

  3. Then I reprooued them, and cursed them, and smote certaine of them, and pulled off their heare, and tooke an othe of them by God, Yee shall not giue your daughters vnto their sonnes, neither shall ye take of their daughters vnto your sonnes, nor for your selues.

  6. Blessed is the man that doeth not walke in the counsell of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in ye seate of the scornefull:

  7. Away from mee all ye workers of iniquitie: for the Lord hath heard the voyce of my weeping.

  8. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned, but he honoureth them that feare the Lord: he that sweareth to his owne hinderance and changeth not.

  9. I haue not hanted with vaine persons, neither kept companie with the dissemblers.

  10. I haue hated the assemblie of the euill, and haue not companied with the wicked.

  11. I haue hated them that giue them selues to deceitfull vanities: for I trust in the Lord.

  12. For when thou seest a thiefe, thou runnest with him, and thou art partaker with the adulterers.

  13. My soule is among lions: I lie among the children of men, that are set on fire: whose teeth are speares and arrowes, and their tongue a sharpe sworde.

  14. A froward heart shall depart from me: I will knowe none euill.

  15. Him that priuily slandereth his neighbour, wil I destroy: him that hath a proude looke and hie heart, I cannot suffer.

  16. Mine eyes shalbe vnto the faithfull of the lande, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfite way, he shall serue me.

  17. There shall no deceitful person dwell within mine house: he that telleth lyes, shall not remaine in my sight.

  18. Thus they prouoked him vnto anger with their owne inuentions, and the plague brake in vpon them.

  19. And serued their idoles, which were their ruine.

  20. Yea, they offered their sonnes, and their daughters vnto deuils,

  21. And shed innocent blood, euen the blood of their sonnes, and of their daughters, whome they offred vnto the idoles of Canaan, and the lande was defiled with blood.

  22. Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, and he abhorred his owne inheritance.

  23. And hee gaue them into the hande of the heathen: and they that hated them, were lordes ouer them.

  24. Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were humbled vnder their hand.

  25. Away from mee, yee wicked: for I will keepe the commandements of my God.
