  1. For what other nation is there so renowned that hath ceremonies, and just judgments, and all the law, which I will set forth this day before our eyes?

  2. Where the chariots were dashed together, and the army of the enemies was choked, there let the justices of the Lord be rehearsed, and his clemency towards the brave men of Israel: then the people of the Lord went down to the gates, and obtained the sovereignty.

  3. Now, therefore, stand up, that I may plead in judgment against you before the Lord, concerning all the kindness of the Lord, which he hath shewn to you, and to your fathers:

  4. O Lord God of Israel, thou art just: for we remain yet to be saved as at this day. Behold we are before thee in our sin, for there can be no standing before thee in this matter.

  5. And thou didst find his heart faithful before thee: and thou madest a covenant with him, to give him the land of the Chanaanite, of the Hethite, and of the Amorrhite, and of the Pherezite, and of the Jebusite, and of the Gergezite, to give it to his seed: and thou hast fulfilled thy words, because thou art just.

  6. I will repeat my knowledge from the beginning, and I will prove my Maker just.

  7. But as for me in the multitude of thy mercy, I will come into thy house; I will worship towards thy holy temple, in thy fear.

  8. The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me.

  9. His sorrow shall be turned on his own head: and his iniquity shall come down upon his crown.

  10. The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried by the fire, purged from the earth, refined seven times.

  11. They are bound, and have fallen: but we are risen, and are set upright.

  12. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

  13. To David himself, understanding. Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

  14. Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

  15. And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

  16. And he will bring forth thy justice as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

  17. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: and thou shalt seek his place, and shalt not find it.

  18. For even the man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, hath greatly supplanted me.

  19. And shall still live unto the end.

  20. To thee only have I sinned, and have done evil before thee: that thou mayst be justified in thy words, and mayst overcome when thou art judged.

  21. ¶ Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

  22. Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.

  23. Give to the king thy judgment, O God, and to the king's son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment.

  24. And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day.

  25. And there shall be a firmament on the earth on the tops of mountains, above Libanus shall the fruit thereof be exalted: and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.
