And he came near and touched the bier. And they that carried it stood still. And he said: Young man, I say to thee, arise.
And thou shalt be blessed, because they have not wherewith to make thee recompense: for recompense shall be made thee at the resurrection of the just.
And there came to him some of the Sadducees, who deny that there is any resurrection: and they asked him,
Amen, amen, I say unto you, that the hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Wonder not at this: for the hour cometh wherein all that are in the graves shall hear the voice of the Son of God.
And they that have done good things shall come forth unto the resurrection of life: but they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.
Now this is the will of the Father who sent me: that of all that he hath given me, I should lose nothing; but should raise it up again in the last day.
And this is the will of my Father that sent me: that every one who seeth the Son and believeth in him may have life everlasting. And I will raise him up in the last day.
No man can come to me, except the Father, who hath sent me, draw him. And I will raise him up in the last day.
Martha saith to him: I know that he shall rise again, in the resurrection at the last day.
Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, although he be dead, shall live:
And presently he that had been dead came forth, bound feet and hands with winding bands. And his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus said to them: Loose him and let him go.
Amen, amen, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falling into the ground die,
Being grieved that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead:
And certain philosophers of the Epicureans and of the Stoics disputed with him. And some said: What is it that this word sower would say? But others: He seemeth to be a setter forth of new gods. Because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.
And when they had heard of the resurrection of the dead, some indeed mocked. But others said: We will hear thee again concerning this matter.
And Paul, knowing that the one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, cried out in the council: Men, brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of Pharisees: concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
For thou mayest understand that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to adore in Jerusalem:
And neither in the temple did they find me disputing with any man or causing any concourse of the people: neither in the synagogues, nor in the city.
Neither can they prove unto thee the things whereof they now accuse me.
But this I confess to thee that according to the way which they call a heresy, so do I serve the Father and my God, believing all things which are written in the law and the prophets:
Having hope in God, which these also themselves look for, that there shall be a resurrection of the just and unjust.
Why should it be thought a thing incredible that God should raise the dead?
And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you; he that raised up Jesus Christ, from the dead shall quicken also your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
