Bible Verses About The First Temple

Many peoples will go and say, "Come, let's go up to the mountain of ADONAI, to the house of the God of Ya'akov! He will teach us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Tziyon will go forth Torah, the word of ADONAI from Yerushalayim.

I will bring them to my holy mountain and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples."

"Back in the time of Hizkiyahu king of Y'hudah, Mikhah from Moreshet was a prophet. He told all the people of Y'hudah, 'ADONAI-Tzva'ot says, "Tziyon will be plowed under like a field, Yerushalayim will become heaps of ruins, and the mountain of the house like a forested height."'

Therefore, because of you, Tziyon will be plowed under like a field, Yerushalayim will become heaps of ruins, and the mountain of the house like a forested height.

He said to them, "It has been written, `My house will be called a house of prayer.' But you are making it into a den of robbers!"

Yeshua answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again.”

But the “temple” he had spoken of was his body.

But Ha‘Elyon does not live in places made by hand! As the prophet says,

Don’t you know that you people are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

Or don’t you know that your body is a temple for the Ruach HaKodesh who lives inside you, whom you received from God? The fact is, you don’t belong to yourselves;

What agreement can there be between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God — as God said, “I will house myself in them, . . . and I will walk among you. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

You have been built on the foundation of the emissaries and the prophets, with the cornerstone being Yeshua the Messiah himself.

In union with him the whole building is held together, and it is growing into a holy temple in union with the Lord.

Yes, in union with him, you yourselves are being built together into a spiritual dwelling-place for God!
