  1. This is why justice is far from us, and righteousness doesn't catch up with us; we look for light, but see only darkness, for brightness, but we walk in gloom.

  8. You, hope of Isra'el, its savior in time of trouble, why should you be like a stranger in the land, like a traveler turning aside for the night?

  9. Why should you be like a man in shock, like a champion unable to save? You, ADONAI, are right here with us; we bear your name - don't leave us!

  10. But he denied it in front of everyone -- "I don't know what you're talking about!"

  11. He went out onto the porch, and another girl saw him and said to the people there, "This man was with Yeshua of Natzeret."

  12. Again he denied it, swearing, "I don't know the man!"

  13. After a little while, the bystanders approached Kefa and said, "You must be one of them -- your accent gives you away."

  14. This time he began to invoke a curse on himself as he swore, "I do not know the man!" -- and immediately a rooster crowed.

  19. he has now reconciled in the Son’s physical body through his death; in order to present you holy and without defect or reproach before himself —

  20. provided, of course, that you continue in your trusting, grounded and steady, and don’t let yourselves be moved away from the hope offered in the Good News you heard. This is the Good News that has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven; and I, Sha’ul, have become a servant of it.
