  14. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles.

  15. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all.

  16. Evil will slay the wicked, and the haters of the righteous will be condemned.

  17. The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and well-doing.

  18. I once was young and now am old, yet never have I seen the righteous abandoned or their children begging for bread.

  19. Though the wicked lie in wait for the righteous, and seek to slay them,

  20. I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; behold, I do not seal my lips, as You, O LORD, do know.

  21. Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom.

  22. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you above your companions with the oil of joy.

  23. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

  24. Then You will delight in righteous sacrifices, in whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on Your altar.
