  1. Though I am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

  2. and to illuminate for everyone the stewardship of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.

  3. His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

  4. according to the eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  5. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel,

  6. for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it fearlessly, as I should.

  8. that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood the grace of God.

  9. the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints.

  10. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

  11. We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

  12. To this end I also labor, striving with all His energy working powerfully within me.

  13. for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave traders and liars and perjurers, and for anyone else who is averse to sound teaching

  14. that agrees with the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.

  15. Now, however, Jesus has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises.

  16. For if that first covenant had been without fault, no place would have been sought for a second.

  17. But God found fault with the people and said: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

  18. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they did not abide by My covenant, and I disregarded them, declares the Lord.

  19. For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds and inscribe them on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people.

  20. No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest.

  21. For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.”

  22. By speaking of a new covenant, He has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

  23. By this arrangement the Holy Spirit was showing that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing.

  24. It is an illustration for the present time, because the gifts and sacrifices being offered were unable to cleanse the conscience of the worshiper.

  25. They consist only in food and drink and special washings—external regulations imposed until the time of reform.
