  1. And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of Jehovah, and to celebrate and to thank and praise Jehovah, the God of Israel:

  2. Then on that day did David first ordain to give thanks unto Jehovah, by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

  3. and to stand every morning to thank and praise Jehovah, and likewise at even;

  8. Wherefore David blessed Jehovah before all the assembly; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.

  9. Thine, O Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Jehovah, and thou art exalted as head above all.

  10. Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

  11. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

  12. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

  13. also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brethren, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets);

  14. it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Jehovah; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Jehovah, saying, For he is good; for his lovingkindness endureth for ever; that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of Jehovah,

  15. And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt-offerings and for peace-offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of Jehovah.

  16. and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, who was the chief to begin the thanksgiving in prayer, and Bakbukiah, the second among his brethren; and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

  17. Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies that gave thanks and went in procession; whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:

  18. So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me;

  19. Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the nations, And will sing praises unto thy name.

  20. Sing praise unto Jehovah, O ye saints of his, And give thanks to his holy memorial name.

  21. To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

  22. I will give thee thanks in the great assembly: I will praise thee among much people.

  23. Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; And pay thy vows unto the Most High;

  24. I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify him with thanksgiving.

  25. We give thanks unto thee, O God; We give thanks, for thy name is near: Men tell of thy wondrous works.
