  1. Behold, I waited for your words, I listened for your reasonings, Whilst ye searched out what to say.

  15. Oh love Jehovah, all ye his saints: Jehovah preserveth the faithful, And plentifully rewardeth him that dealeth proudly.

  16. Blessed is the man that maketh Jehovah his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

  17. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, Andtheir dwelling-places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.

  18. Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.

  19. Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; Violence covereth them as a garment.

  20. They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression: They speak loftily.

  21. They have set their mouth in the heavens, And their tongue walketh through the earth.

  22. I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly; And to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

  23. Lift not up your horn on high; Speak not with a stiff neck.

  24. For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, cometh lifting up.

  25. Whoso privily slandereth his neighbor, him will I destroy: Him that hath a high look and a proud heart will I not suffer.
