  1. All the congregation of the children of Israel traveled from the wilderness of Sin, by their journeys, according to the LORD’s commandment, and encamped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.

  2. Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?”

  3. The people were thirsty for water there; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?”

  4. There was no water for the congregation; and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

  5. So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom; and they made a circuit of seven days’ journey. There was no water for the army, nor for the animals that followed them.

  6. The king of Israel said, “Alas! For the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

  7. For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah supply and support, the whole supply of bread, and the whole supply of water;
