  1. God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation which he had done.

  11. You shall anoint the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and sanctify the altar: and the altar will be most holy.

  12. You shall anoint the basin and its base, and sanctify it.

  13. “You shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall wash them with water.

  14. You shall put on Aaron the holy garments; and you shall anoint him, and sanctify him, that he may minister to me in the priest’s office.

  15. You shall bring his sons, and put coats on them.

  16. You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to me in the priest’s office. Their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.”

  17. Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the LORD’s glory filled the tabernacle.

  18. Moses wasn’t able to enter into the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud stayed on it, and the LORD’s glory filled the tabernacle.

  19. You shall keep my statutes, and do them. I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

  20. The LORD said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, ‘A priest shall not defile himself for the dead among his people;

  21. except for his relatives that are near to him: for his mother, for his father, for his son, for his daughter, for his brother,

  22. and for his virgin sister who is near to him, who has had no husband; for her he may defile himself.

  23. He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

  24. “‘They shall not shave their heads, neither shall they shave off the corners of their beards, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

  25. They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire, the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.
