  1. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

  14. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

  15. And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

  16. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

  17. ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

  18. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  19. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

  20. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

  21. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

  22. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

  23. When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

  24. And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

  25. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
