  1. ¶ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

  2. The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

  3. Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

  4. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

  5. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

  6. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

  14. O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

  15. But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

  16. Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

  17. The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
