  1. The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

  2. Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?

  3. The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

  4. For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

  5. Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

  6. ¶ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

  7. He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

  8. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

  9. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

  10. And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

  11. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

  12. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

  13. Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

  14. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

  15. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

  16. ¶ Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

  17. But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

  18. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

  19. Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

  20. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

  21. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

  22. ¶ Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

  23. And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

  24. But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

  25. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
