  1. If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;

  2. Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:

  3. Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,

  4. Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.

  5. And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest:

  6. And the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD: and it shall be forgiven him for any thing of all that he hath done in trespassing therein.

  7. ¶ Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

  8. And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

  9. If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

  10. Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.

  11. They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

  12. The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

  13. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

  14. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

  15. Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

  16. Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

  17. Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

  18. God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

  19. Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

  20. What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?

  21. Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

  22. To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

  23. Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

  24. Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

  25. Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
