For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheepe of his hande: to day, if ye will heare his voyce,
Harden not your heart, as in Meribah, and as in the day of Massah in the wildernesse.
Where your fathers tempted me, proued me, though they had seene my worke.
Fourtie yeeres haue I contended with this generation, and said, They are a people that erre in heart, for they haue not knowen my wayes.

Where your fathers tempted me, prooued me, and sawe my workes fourtie yeeres long.
Wherefore I was grieued with that generation, and sayde, They erre euer in their heart, neither haue they knowen my wayes.
Againe he appointed in Dauid a certaine day, by To day, after so long a time, saying, as it is sayd, This day, if ye heare his voyce, harden not your hearts.
