  1. If thou take thy neighbours rayment to pledge, thou shalt restore it vnto him before the sunne go downe:

  2. Whe thou shalt aske again of thy neighbour any thing lent, thou shalt not goe into his house to fet his pledge.

  3. But thou shalt stand without, and the man that borowed it of thee, shall bring the pledge out of the doores vnto thee.

  4. Furthermore if it be a poore body, thou shalt not sleepe with his pledge,

  5. But shalt restore him the pledge when the sunne goeth downe, that he may sleepe in his raiment, and blesse thee: and it shalbe righteousnesse vnto thee before the Lord thy God.

  6. Thou shalt not peruert the right of the stranger, nor of the fatherlesse, nor take a widowes rayment to pledge.

  7. They leade away the asse of the fatherles: and take the widowes oxe to pledge.

  8. If thou hast nothing to paye, why causest thou that he should take thy bed from vnder thee?

  9. But if a man be iust, and doe that which is lawfull, and right,

  10. Neither hath oppressed any, but hath restored the pledge to his dettour: he that hath spoyled none by violence, but hath giuen his bread to the hungry, and hath couered the naked with a garment,

  11. Or hath oppressed the poore and needy, or hath spoyled by violence, or hath not restored the pledge, or hath lift vp his eyes vnto the idoles, or hath committed abomination,

  12. To wit, if the wicked restore the pledge, and giue againe that he had robbed, and walke in the statutes of life, without committing iniquitie, he shall surely liue, and not die.

  13. And they lye downe vpon clothes layde to pledge by euery altar: and they drinke the wine of the condemned in the house of their God.
