  1. Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations,

  2. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.

  8. That is, ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shalbe a signe of the couenant betweene me and you.

  9. And euery man childe of eight dayes olde among you, shalbe circumcised in your generations, aswell he that is borne in thine house, as he that is bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seede.

  10. He that is borne in thine house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needes be circumcised: so my couenant shall be in your flesh for an euerlasting couenant.

  11. But the vncircumcised man childe, in whose flesh the foreskin is not circumcised, euen that person shall be cut off from his people, because he hath broken my couenant.

  12. Neither are they all children, because they are the seede of Abraham: but, In Isaac shall thy seede be called:

  13. That is, they which are the children of the flesh, are not the children of God: but the children of the promise, are counted for the seede.

  14. For this is a worde of promise, In this same time wil I come, and Sara shall haue a sonne.

  15. Neither he onely felt this, but also Rebecca when shee had conceiued by one, euen by our father Isaac.

  16. For yer the children were borne, and when they had neither done good, nor euill (that the purpose of God might remaine according to election, not by workes, but by him that calleth)

  17. It was said vnto her, The elder shall serue the yonger.

  18. As it is written, I haue loued Iacob, and haue hated Esau.
