Therefore, having yet one son, most dear to him, he also sent him unto them last of all, saying: They will reverence my son.

But the husbandmen said one to another: This is the heir. Come let us kill him and the inheritance shall be ours.

And laying hold on him, they killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.

What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen and will give the vineyard to others.

And have you not read this scripture, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner:

By the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes.

And they sought to lay hands on him: but they feared the people. For they knew that he spoke this parable to them. And leaving him, they went their way.

For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up what thou didst not lay down: and thou reapest that which thou didst not sow.

He saith to him: Out of thy own mouth I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up what I laid not down and reaping that which I did not sow.

But they hearing this, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest. And Jesus alone remained, and the woman standing in the midst.

The tribune commanded him to be brought into the castle, and that he should be scourged and tortured: to know for what cause they did so cry out against him.

Wherefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest. For wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself. For thou dost the same things which thou judgest.
