Bible Verses About Repentance

Lest there be any fornicator or profane person, as Esau who for one mess sold his first birthright.

For know ye that afterwards, when he desired to inherit the benediction, he was rejected. For he found no place of repentance, although with tears he had sought it.

Draw nigh to God: and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Be afflicted and mourn and weep: let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into sorrow.

Be humbled in the sight of the Lord: and he will exalt you.

Which had been some time incredulous, when they waited for the patience of God in the days of Noe, when the ark was a building: wherein a few, that is, eight souls, were saved by water.

The Lord delayeth not his promise, as some imagine, but dealeth patiently for your sake, not willing that any should perish, but that all should return to penance,

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity.

Neither did they penance from their murders nor from their sorceries nor from their fornication nor from their thefts.

And men were scorched with great heat: and they blasphemed the name of God, who hath power over these plagues. Neither did they penance to give him glory.
