Bible Verses About Afflictions Made Beneficial

Jesus answered: Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents; but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

His sisters therefore sent to him, saying: Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

And Jesus hearing it, said to them: This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God: that the Son of God may be glorified by it.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he will take away: and every one that beareth fruit, he will purge it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Always bearing about in our body the mortification of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our bodies.

For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake: that the life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

And lest the greatness of the revelations should exalt me, there was given me a sting of my flesh, an angel of Satan, to buffet me.

Now, brethren, I desire you should know that the things which have happened to me have fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel:

Wherein I labour even unto bands, as an evildoer. But the word of God is not bound.
