Bible Verses About Afflicted Saints
Key Bible Verses
In chastity, in knowledge, in longsuffering, in sweetness, in the Holy Ghost, in charity unfeigned,
In the word of truth, in the power of God: by the armour of justice on the right hand and on the left:
By honour and dishonour: by evil report and good report: as deceivers and yet true: as unknown and yet known:
As dying and behold we live: as chastised and not killed:
As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing: as needy, yet enriching many: as having nothing and possessing all things.
But God, who comforteth the humble, comforted us by the coming of Titus.
So that we ourselves also glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith, and in all your persecutions and tribulations: which you endure
But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, that by me the preaching may be accomplished and that all the Gentiles may hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
For in that wherein he himself hath suffered and been tempted he is able to succour them also that are tempted.
Rather choosing to be afflicted with the people of God than to have the pleasure of sin for a time:
And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us:
Looking on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who, having joy set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and now sitteth on the right hand of the throne of God.
For think diligently upon him that endured such opposition from sinners against himself that you be not wearied, fainting in your minds.
And you have forgotten the consolation which speaketh to you, as unto children, saying: My son, neglect not the discipline of the Lord: neither be thou wearied whilst thou art rebuked by him.
And patience hath a perfect work: that you may be perfect and entire, failing in nothing.
Take, my brethren, for example of suffering evil, of labour and patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
Having your conversation good among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by the good works which they shall behold in you, glorify God in the day of visitation.
For what glory is it, if, committing sin and being buffeted for it, you endure? But if doing well you suffer patiently: this is thankworthy before God.
For unto this are you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example that you should follow his steps.
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.
Who, when he was reviled, did not revile: when he suffered, he threatened not, but delivered himself to him that judged him unjustly.
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon the whole world to try them that dwell upon the earth.
