Bible Verses About Adultery: Forbidden
Verses on Forbidden
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not lie with thy neighbour's wife: nor be defiled with mingling of seed.
Make not thy daughter a common strumpet, lest the land be defiled, and filled with wickedness.
Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
There shall be no whore among the daughters of Israel, nor whoremonger among the sons of Israel.
You have heard that it was said to them of old: Thou shalt not commit adultery.
He said to him: Which? And Jesus said: Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness.
Thou knowest the commandments: Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery: Thou shalt not steal: Thou shalt not bear false witness: Honour thy father and mother.
But that we write unto them, that they refrain themselves from the pollutions of idols and from fornication and from things strangled and from blood.
For: Thou shalt not commit adultery: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steal: Thou shalt not bear false witness: Thou shalt not covet. And if there be any other commandment, it is comprised in this word: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day: not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and impurities, not in contention and envy.
I wrote to you in an epistle, not to keep company with fornicators.
I mean not with the fornicators of this world or with the covetous or the extortioners or the servers of idols: otherwise you must needs go out of this world.
But now I have written to you, not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother be a fornicator or covetous or a server of idols or a railer or a drunkard or an extortioner: with such a one, not so much as to eat.
Meat for the belly and the belly for the meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord: and the Lord for the body.
Know you not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid!
Fly fornication. Every sin that a man doth is without the body: but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them that committed fornication: and there fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
This then I say and testify in the Lord: That henceforward you walk not as also the Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind:
Who despairing have given themselves up to lasciviousness, unto the working of all uncleanness, unto covetousness.
But you have not so learned Christ:
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not so much as be named among you, as becometh saints:
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness: but rather reprove them.
For the things that are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence and covetousness, which is the service of idols.
