Isaac
Verses Mentioning Isaac
And the posts went with letters by commandment of the king, and his princes, to all Israel and Juda, proclaiming according to the king's orders: Ye children of Israel, turn again to the Lord the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Israel: and he will return to the remnant of you that have escaped the hand of the king of the Assyrians.
And he rebuked the Red Sea and it was dried up: and he led them through the depths, as in a wilderness.
Surely I will also cast off the seed of Jacob, and of David my servant, so as not to take any of his seed to be rulers of the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will bring back their captivity, and will have mercy on them.
And the high places of the idol shall be thrown down, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste: and I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
And now hear thou the word of the Lord: Thou sayest, thou shalt not prophesy against Israel, and thou shalt not drop thy word upon the house of the idol.
Abraham begot Isaac. And Isaac begot Jacob. And Jacob begot Judas and his brethren.
And I say to you that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven:
I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.
And as concerning the dead that they rise again have you not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke to him, saying: I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?
Who was of Jacob, who was of Isaac, who was of Abraham, who was of Thare, who was of Nachor,
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth; when you shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God: and you yourselves thrust out.
Now that the dead rise again, Moses also shewed at the bush, when he called the Lord: The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.
The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied before the face of Pilate, when he judged he should be released.
And he gave him the covenant of circumcision. And so he begot Isaac and circumcised him the eighth day: and Isaac begot Jacob: and Jacob, the twelve patriarchs.
I am the God of thy fathers: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses being terrified durst not behold.
Neither are all they that are the seed of Abraham, children: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
And not only she. But when Rebecca also had conceived at once of Isaac our father.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
By faith he abode in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in cottages, with Isaac and Jacob, the co-heirs of the same promise.
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
(To whom it was said: In Isaac shalt thy seed be called:)
By faith also of things to come Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau.
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, offering up Isaac his son upon the altar?
