Bible Verses About Self-Denial: Christ set an example of
Verses on Christ set an example of
Once more, the Adversary took him up to the summit of a very high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their glory,
and said to him, "All this I will give you if you will bow down and worship me."
"Away with you, Satan!" Yeshua told him, "For the Tanakh says, `Worship ADONAI your God, and serve only him.'"
Yeshua said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds flying about have nests, but the Son of Man has no home of his own."
For I have come down from heaven to do not my own will but the will of the One who sent me.
For even the Messiah did not please himself; rather, as the Tanakh says, ‘The insults of those insulting you fell on me.’
Though he was in the form of God, he did not regard equality with God something to be possessed by force.
On the contrary, he emptied himself, in that he took the form of a slave by becoming like human beings are. And when he appeared as a human being,
he humbled himself still more by becoming obedient even to death — death on a stake as a criminal!
