  10. When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and listen to His voice.

  11. For the LORD your God is a merciful God; He will not abandon you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers, which He swore to them by oath.

  12. Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in front of the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven,

  13. For You, O Lord GOD, as Your inheritance, have set them apart from all the peoples of the earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought our fathers out of Egypt.”

  14. As for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve Him wholeheartedly and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands the intent of every thought. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

  15. If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send a plague among My people,

  16. and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

  17. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

  18. But if you would earnestly seek God and ask the Almighty for mercy,

  19. if you are pure and upright, even now He will rouse Himself on your behalf and restore your righteous estate.

  20. I am a laughingstock to my friends, though I called on God, and He answered. The righteous and upright man is a laughingstock.

  21. You will pray to Him, and He will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.

  22. He prays to God and finds favor; he sees God’s face and shouts for joy, and God restores His righteousness to that man.

  23. Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

  24. For the Avenger of bloodshed remembers; He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.

  25. You have heard, O LORD, the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their hearts. You will incline Your ear,
