  1. When all the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the sounding of the ram’s horn, and the mountain enveloped in smoke, they trembled and stood at a distance.

  18. Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.

  20. And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

  21. In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him.

  22. There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.
