  1. What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”

  17. With lofty but empty words, they appeal to the sensual passions of the flesh and entice those who are just escaping from others who live in error.

  18. They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to depravity. For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.

  19. Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard so that you will not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing.

  20. Anyone who runs ahead without remaining in the teaching of Christ does not have God. Whoever remains in His teaching has both the Father and the Son.

  21. If anyone comes to you but does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home or even greet him.

  22. Whoever greets such a person shares in his evil deeds.

  23. I know your deeds, your labor, and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate those who are evil, and you have tested and exposed as liars those who falsely claim to be apostles.

  24. But you have this to your credit: You hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

  25. Therefore repent! Otherwise I will come to you shortly and wage war against them with the sword of My mouth.
